Was it worth it?


I know this workout seems very wimpy, and it was to be honest. But, I have a very good reason for it. The university pool is closing for the holidays next week and if I didn’t make it in today then I would have ended the year with 19,800ish yards swam. That was not going to happen, so I get in 250 quick yards and go over the 20,000 yard mark for the year since joining on July 1. Along with going over 100 total hours and 100 miles for the 6 months I have a nice little collection of milestones. Just wait and see what I do next year!!!

Didn’t feel great in the pool today.  Had a lot on my mind and I was sucking wind pretty bad, but I did it!!!

Swim cut short


Started my swim workout with freestyle and my shoulder started to hurt, so much so that I could only do breast and back strokes and decided to stop at 500 yards. This is a first for me and I don’t know what to think. I don’t plan on a swim again until Monday so hopefully it will just work itself out. Run tomorrow!!!

Working toward my goal


OK, I have worked the past couple of months on breathing and getting my swim stroke down. I’m now going to start working toward my goal of swimming 1000 yards in 30 mins. Today I got 800 meters in 30 mins. with a combo of freestyle and back stoke. I’m sure it wasn’t pretty, but it’s a start. I am very happy with today’s results and look forward to improving on them!!!

Bad energy


I have been dealing with bad energy this week and took it into the pool with me today. I gotta snap out of it soon, because is sucks out loud, and it doesn’t help your workout.

I guess swimming is pretty mental. I learned last night that the pool I swim in is 25 meters long instead of 25 yards. That mush explain why I was slower today then on Monday (total time) doing the same distance. But my 100 splits are now faster ;)
