Almost BACK

The back is almost back for me (knock on wood). I am feeling better than I have the past 7+ days. The true test will be tomorrow as I play golf for propbably the last time this summer. It should be a fun time and hopefully the back will cooperate. If that goes well I might be getting back in the pool Thursday. Cross your fingers.

Walk it out baby!!!

I think my biggest mistake this weekend was laying on a heating pad hoping it would help my back. My new strategy is to go about my normal routine, minus the training and adding the walking. I gotta get it healed because it is driving me crazy!!!

Stir crazy walk

The back is still out, and looks like it could be a while before I am back at it, so I decided to get out and take the dog for a walk.  Hopefully it helps the back and it felt good to get out and do something finally.

Can’t wait for the back to heal and for Bridie’s big work event to be over so we can get back our workout focus!!!

Back is not better

OK, so yesterday morning I was feeling much better, even thinking I’d be able to get in the pool that afternoon….then the unthinkable happened. I sneezed. And not just any sneeze, and big, body shaking nose rattling, monster sneeze. This sneeze sent a bolt of lightning to my back and basically put me on the shelf longer. I have not had it hurt this bad for a long, long time. So, I have tremendous back pain and frustration from not working out. This sucks. I am hoping to get it better by Monday so I can get going again. Wish me luck!!!

Oh my aching back

So while cleaning my garage over the weekend I lifted a bad of soil improperly and have a very sore lower back to show for it. I don’t mess around with back issues so I am off training until it feels better, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday. Bummer because I was really looking forward to getting back in the pool today.

On another note Bridie and I saw Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick last night in Spokane. Great show!!! Journey and Heart are two of my favorite bands!!!

More breathing

So I am sticking with this whole getting comfortable with your breathing in the water thing, and at the end of the workout I thought I would just try swimming, and I got 8-10 strokes breathing every other stroke..and that is double what I was able to do before. I am taking this as progress and am excited to get back in there next week. Who knows, I may have a future in triathlons after all.
